Arabescato Orobico is quarried in the heart of the Italian Orobian Alps, in the Val Brembana (province of Bergamo), specifically from the Valsecca and Cornalita quarries, both owned by Marmi Orobici Graniti S.p.A.
The extraction activity began in 1967 at the Valsecca quarry, acquired by Giuseppe Carnevale of Marmi Cornello, thus initiating the production of this renowned marble. In 1975, to expand the supply and meet the growing demand, the Cornalita quarry was acquired, located at a lower altitude than Valsecca. From the very first extractions, this quarry stood out for a new and fascinating chromatic variety of Arabescato, which was immediately appreciated in the market for its unique hues.
In the eighties, Marmi Cornello became Marmi Orobici Graniti S.p.A., and during this period, the marble was widely used in popular construction for the production of small tiles.
In 2013, thanks to significant economic investments and the introduction of advanced technologies, Giovanni Carnevale, who succeeded his father, decided to reopen the quarry. Convinced that Arabescato Orobico could achieve great success in the market, his intuition proved correct, bringing the quarry to levels of excellence and generating strong demand for the material.
To date, the demand for Arabescato Orobico is constantly growing and thanks to its installation, this marble has become a true symbol of excellence, embodying the art, design and tradition of Italian marble in every corner of the world.
